SPEAKERS

Pierre Barreau

Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Aiva Technologies

Aiva Technologies is one of the leading startups in the field of AI music composition. It was founded just last year in Luxembourg and London by Pierre Barreau.

They have created an AI called “Aiva” (Artificial Intelligence Virtual Artist) and taught it how to compose classical music – an emotional art which is usually considered to be a uniquely human quality. Aiva’s musical pieces are used as soundtracks for film directors, advertising agencies, and even game studios.

Having already released its first album called Genesis, as well as many single tracks, Aiva recently became the first AI ever to officially acquire the worldwide status of Composer. It was registered under the France and Luxembourg authors’ right society (SACEM), where all of its works reside with a copyright to its own name.

Richard Browning

Founder and Chief Test Pilot
Gravity Industries

Richard Browning, founder and chief test pilot of Gravity Industries, has soared into the record books with the brand new Guinness World Records title for the fastest speed in a body-controlled jet engine power suit. He founded Gravity Industries Ltd in March 2017, the company behind the “Daedalus Mark 1”, a flight suit that uses six miniature jet engines to achieve vertical flight. The kerosene engines are rated at 22kg of thrust each. Browning uses his arms to control the direction and speed of the flight, while a display inside the helmet gives updates on fuel consumption and other usage data. He achieved a speed of 32.02 miles per hour (51.53 km/h) with the suit during a Guinness World Records attempt for ‘Fastest speed in a body controlled jet engine powered suit’.

Dr. Angelo Niko Grubišić

Project Lead
ICARUS Project

Dr Angelo N Grubisic is Lecturer in Astronautics and Advanced Propulsion within the Faculty of Engineering and the Environment at the University of Southampton and is a specialist in the development and testing of advanced propulsion systems for spacecraft. Dr. Grubisic also leads a number of 4th year Group Design Projects including the Icarus World Record Wingsuit Project. The aim of the Icarus Project is to develop the world’s first scientifically engineered wingsuit to break current records and set additional world records for human flight. These records include the highest altitude and highest speed wingsuit jump, whilst traveling furthest total distance in the longest ever wingsuit flight.
